At Aswanley we have created a unique setting for sumptuous gatherings and small family affairs. We can look after a couple of dozen friends and relations or *** guests dining and dancing.

The restored Aswanley Steading boasts all the features of country house living and comfort you would expect to find on a private Highland estate. We are entirely flexible. You can hire the steading for as long as you need; an afternoon or a long weekend. You can make your own arrangements or leave it all to us. We have organised weddings large and small for our own families and friends and friends of friends. So we really do understand the importance of attention to detail.

THE PLACE

With its huge open fire Aswanley Steading offers a space to host engagement parties in Huntly that many hotels and castles would die for. Within the warm stone walls we have created a flexible series of interconnecting sitting rooms, lounges and bar areas around a central dining room and dance floor. In summer we throw open the French windows and doors to the river terrace. You can hire the entire complex or just the rooms you need.

THE CEREMONY

Religious and civil ceremonies can be conducted at Aswanley. Ministers and priests of all denominations are usually delighted to hold services here. For those who prefer a church service the parish church is just down the road and there is a Roman Catholic church in Huntly.

ACCOMMODATION

We have a selection of estate cottages, or you can arrange your own accommodation locally. We offer six fully modernised self-catering stone cottages within a few minutes drive of the Steading.

THE ENTERTAINMENT

No wedding in Scotland is complete without a piper who traditionally plays in the guests and plays out the newlyweds. You may even want a full pipe band.

For the ceremony there is a wealth of talented classical musicians and quartets available. Dance to Scottish fiddle and accordian bands, live groups and disco.

CATERING

We will handle all catering arrangements for as few or as many as you like. But you are welcome to make your own arrangements using the professionally equipped kitchens. We can lay on champagne receptions with nibbles or full wedding lunches and dinners with wine and whisky for up to *** seated guests, waited on by friendly local staff.
