The Castle
Looking like a fairy tale castle, Dalnaglar Castle is set on a beautiful naturally elevated site in the heart of Glenshee, which translates as "The Valley of Peace" and is known locally as "Glen of the Fairies". Originally a **th century hunting lodge, Dalnaglar Castle was commissioned by Lord Clyde, Queen Victoria's banker, and designed by Her Majesty's architect from Balmoral.

Set in the legendary Scottish Highlands, the castle provides the perfect place for a romantic escape for an unforgettable wedding. Come and enjoy the surroundings and magnificent scenery, and feel like a prince or princess while you are here. The castle is only two hundred yards away from the River Shee, a perfect place for a riverside picnic or walk, and first-rate trout and salmon fishing. Dalnaglar Castle also has its own private Loch and to the front of the castle a lochan.

Accommodation
Dalnaglar Castle has recently been extensively refurbished to provide the comfort of **st century technology whilst retaining the character of a **th century stately home.

Dalnaglar has * beautifully en suite double/twin rooms plus two further rooms with a shared bathroom. Each room is individually designed and has a character all its own. You will feel as though you are in Victorian times, but with all modern conveniences.

The property also includes an extremely comfortable luxurious sitting room, well stocked library, elegant dining room looking out on the gardens, and reception room, all of which have their own fireplaces. Though the castle does have central heating.

All this comes with in-house staff and regional cuisine, which is freshly prepared using local produce.

Weddings
Dalnaglar Castle is the perfect place for a wedding in the Highlands. When you arrive you can feel the magic and power of the Highlands and how it is the best place for a perfect and truly unforgettable wedding experience. There are many beautiful places on the grounds for your ceremony, you may choose the beautiful gardens directly behind the castle overlooking the Shee, or you may choose the calmness and serenity of our private loch, just up the hill from the castle, with breathtaking views of the hills and glen. These are just a few of the various places you can choose from.

Guests have exclusive use of the castle and its grounds for you and the wedding guests, to providing canapés, a gourmet meal for dinner and drinks, and full Scottish breakfast the next morning, all sourced with fresh and local ingredients, and prepared and served by our highly skilled and experienced staff.

If there is anything else which you require, we are happy to arrange things such as photographer, florist, wedding cake, fireworks, and any other entertainment.

Shooting
Dalnaglar is a well established sporting estate offering driven and walked up shooting including grouse and partridge. If you would like to experience the breathtaking scenery and tranquillity in the glens then a day's stalking of red and roe deer would be the perfect solution to an ideal day.

We can also provide you with expert shooting tuition whether you are a novice or you just need a little polish on your existing shooting skills.

Fishing
Experience a relaxing day by the river whether you choose to fish or spectate with a picnic and a bottle of wine, our ghillie is available upon request to provide you with his expert knowledge and many tales to be told to make this a truly memorable day.

Dalnaglar estate is situated on the banks of the river Shee. We have a one and a half mile beat which is a spate river and offers excellent salmon fishing, brown and rainbow trout. Our private Loch is also available for fishing and a boat is available upon request. Rods are available for hire.

Golf
Central Perthshire also offers excellent golfing. Local courses are: Breamar (the highest course in Scotland, and possibly one of the most breathtaking, with the Cairngorm Mountains rising up each side of the course), also the Championship course at Rosemount and Blairgowrie, or the smart professional course at Glenisla. In total there are over *** golf courses in the surrounding area including Gleneagles, Carnoustie and St Andrews. We are happy to make any arrangements you may need for your golfing needs.

Activities
The experienced staff at Dalnaglar are happy to organise any addition you may need, such as transport for tours of local places of interest, entertainment whether it will be a piper, whisky tasting or a story teller. Prices available on application.

We are situated in one of Scotland's most rugged and spectacularly beautiful glens.
