Jan Pickett is a professional Calligrapher, Lettering Artist and Illustrator, who undertakes many and varied commissions, both private and commercial. She is an Honoured Fellow of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) and a Fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators (SSI), and is active in, and supports, both Societies. Based in Portsmouth, Jan teaches weekly Adult Education classes at Portsmouth College (***** ******) and regular monthly 'Pen-pals' day workshops during term time, (***** ******). She also teaches occasional day courses at Hampton Court Palace, London and travels both nationally and internationally to teach a variety of one and two day workshops.

"Since childhood in Wales, my whole life has been a love affair with all forms of Art, especially anything involving brushes and pens! I enjoy all aspects of lettering, both formal and informal and its wider applications, including illustration, heraldry, gilding, embossing and cut paper work".
