John Campbell Bagpiper for Hire

A bagpiper guaranteed to add musical excitement to any event with the combination of traditional highland dress and a wide and varied repertoire of bagpipe tunes to suit all occasions.

I am available for Weddings, Funerals, Burns suppers, birthdays or other special occasions across South Wales and the South West.

I have played the 'highland' bagpipes for 11 years, 5 years as a playing member of a competing pipeband. The high points being two major pipeband championship wins.

In Nov 2008 I started to compete in the Competition League for Amateur Solo Pipers (CLASP), organised by the National Piping Centre in Glasgow. In my first year of solo competing (August 2009), I came joint 1st at the World Amateur solo piping championships at my grade.

I enjoy performing at my best for audiences, and would relish the opportunity to add a musical touch to your special occasion. I live near Cardiff, South Wales.

My kilt design is Campbell of Argyl (Modern) and reflects my late father's Scottish background. I was however, born in Wales.

"john played at my mothers funeral three weeks ago and i have to say that he was absolutely amazing. john came down a couple of days before just to make sure he would be in the right place to get full effect of the bagpipes and that the tunes that he was going to play were acceptable. john walked in front of my mothers coffin as we carried her in and when he started playing it was overwhelming, as we stopped at the church doors ready to go in john belted out FLOWER OF SCOTLAND as we entered the church (totally patriotic to my mother and our family)people afterwards were coming up to me afterwards and saying that when john played there was not a dry eye in the church. john was professional,courtious,thoughtfull from beginning to end and did my mother proud. i would definately use john again and would definately recommend him to anyone. if you are in doubt check him out on you tube he is amazing. thanks again john and it was my pleasure to be able to write this review about you , well deserved. with thanks and gratitude. "We hired John for our wedding reception last weekend and ourselves and our guests were blown away! I'm Scottish and my wife's Welsh, so we asked for (among other tunes) Flower Of Scotland and the Welsh national anthem. John happily obliged and did a fantastic job with all the tunes he played (including Scottish Soldier and Scotland The Brave). He also went way beyond the call of duty by coming up and meeting us at the venue a few weeks before the event to check it out. On the night, he happily posed for photos with guests and even managed to keep well hidden while the guests were arriving, as this was our little surprise to our guests (especially the Scottish ones!). We would (and we will) gladly hire John again whenever we need a piper, and would highly recommend him to anyone! THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR SPECIAL NIGHT EVEN MORE SPECIAL JOHN!!!
