My boyfriend, at the time--now fiance, decided to play a game of tricks and lies for his proposal. He called around 6pm and told me to get ready and look nice, he was going to pick me up at 8pm. So I did, not thinking anything of it--we go out to dinner at least once a week--so i got dressed and he picked me up.

when we arrived he told me to look at the new jacket he got, it was in the trunk. So I walk to the trunk and he has a dozen roses pinned to the trunk with push pins--so they could stay in place while he drove. and a bag with a note pinned to the front of it... it said "I love you and we have been through it all...blah blah blah...Will you Marry me?" (I thought that was a bad way to propose...a Note?!) But still, I'm surprised and at a loss for words, so i say "are you serious?" hahahaha. Then he says look in the bag, so I do and there is a box.
I open the box and there is nothing in it. I say "um. there is nothing there." then he says "OH MY GOSH, I was checking it at the house, and i left it on the bed..." so I say "Strike 2, you didn't get on the knee and you forgot the Ring..." SO we eat, all the while I am thinking about whether or not I will like the ring and if this is the way a proposal should be...

Then when we were done eating he wanted to go to the beach to walk on the sand under the moon--I'm thinking no way. I want to get home and see the Ring. But we end up at the beach anyway. so while we're talking, I happen to look away for a moment and when I turn around to tell him how nice the moon looks...he was on one knee, RING IN HAND and ready to do it the right way...I was SPEACHLESS. and I loved it... he is so goofy. but it was the perfect proposal. he couldn't have done it any better...
