| Dear Party Pop,
Don’t ask me how he did it. To this day, he won’t tell me. My lover, Curt, seems to accomplish things that surprise me sometimes. We went to see an R-rated hypnotist show staring Joe De Vito in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A bunch of our friends went as well. We heard that he was extremely funny and he doesn’t hold back. I had never been hypnotized and I was in a crazy enough mood to volunteer to go on stage.
We started with about 30 people on stage. Apparently, I ended up being very suggestible. When I came out of my trance, there were only 5 of us left. I didn’t remember any of what happened except that I had a diamond ring on my finger and I don’t even know how that happened. Somehow, Curt arranged it so that if I made the cut that I would be told to go into the audience, bring Curt to the front of the stage and propose to him while I was under hypnosis. There was no guarantee, but he took a chance anyway. He would find some way to make a production out of it. He even had a friend record the event, but wouldn’t let me see it until our wedding night.
So apparently, in the middle of the show, as I was told later by my best friend, Heather, this whole scene took place. I was told to walk as provocatively as I could to where my boyfriend was sitting. I was told to act like a diva. I was told to swing my hips and walk with an air of total sexy confidence. I was to take his hand and help him stand. I then was to rub myself against him as though he was a pole in a strip tease dance. I was to tell him to come with me and bring him to the front of the stage. I then was to say, “You are a sexy, hot hunk of a man and I want you to marry me.” Curt would then say, yes I will, you sexy goddess” and he would then place a ring on my finger. I was to kiss him passionately and take him back to his seat. I was then to come back on stage and show everyone my ring. I was told to remember only the part where I received the ring from Curt. Apparently I did a great job because Heather told me the audience was in stitches.
Curt told me after we were released that I proposed to him and he accepted. That is why I had this ring on my finger. He asked if I was OK with that. I said, Of course. I asked him, “Why would you do it in a way that I won’t remember?” He then told me that I would see it on my wedding night. He wanted to propose in public somehow and didn’t want to take a chance that I would say no. I told him he was silly. I asked, “Don’t you know how much I love you?” He said, “Yes”. I told him the ring was beautiful and that I loved him very much. He wanted to share the embarrassment with me in a special way.
Well, the wedding date was set for six months from that eventful proposal night. I still have three months before I get to see how much I embarrassed myself. I can’t wait actually. All the wedding plans are going well. I picked a fun guy.
Thank you,
