Dear Party Pop, I have a funny story to tell with regards to my best friend’s wedding. She married her high school sweetheart after college graduation. We all went to the same university and she and I joined a sorority our first year there. Her husband, Rich, joined a fraternity and made some life long friends. I started dating one of those guys and we are now engaged to be married. Anyway, the wedding was on a Sunday and even though we knew it wasn’t the greatest idea, had the bachelor and bachelorette parties on the Friday night before. There were so many sorority sisters and fraternity brothers coming into town for the wedding, that we thought it would be much more fun with everyone there. The girls all went to a restaurant and bar and had a great time talking and dancing. Nothing too risqué but we did get Heather pretty drunk. The funny story had to do with the guys. The guys gathered at Rich’s brother-in-law’s house for a poker tournament. There was food, booze, girls, and more booze. We heard later that there were two strippers who stripped down to nothing but a little string bikini bottom. They put whip cream on various parts of their body, and the guys got to lick it off. Then they gave Rich shot after shot of tequila and he could hardly see straight. In fact, he passed out before the night was over. When everyone had gone, my fiancé and two other groomsmen thought it would be funny to shave Rich’s legs. Not his whole leg, but in rings. Rich has dark hairy legs so imagine what he looked like with rings of hair all the way up and down his legs. At least it was a nice pattern. When he woke up the next morning he was not very happy; mostly because he knew Heather was going to have a cow. So the guys didn’t tell her. No one said a word. She didn’t even notice on their wedding night. (I think Rich got creative and kept his legs as far away from her as possible.) But the first day they were on the beach in Hawaii for their honeymoon, Rich swears people could hear her scream on the other side of the island. We all laugh about it now and enjoy telling the story to all the brides-to-be we meet. Sincerely, Kristy Holt
