I am not a happy bride when it came to visiting the Costa Mesa, CA and the Santa Ana, CA store and was VERY upset to find that after making an appt to view dresses and expect customer service when I arrived at the store, no one greeted me at all. As well, I waited well over an hour after my appt was made and other brides shopping in the store said Good Luck getting someone to even ask if you need help. Needless to say, I am passing the word in a wide network of what would have been potential customers to say that David's Bridal does NOT employ corteous and attentive employees. NEVER would I want to shop there and a bride should feel like a PRINCESS, let alone at least a normal customer.
Hello Ladies. Being a person that works in the wedding industry (and a newly wed), I believe I am entitled to my few cents as well.
I bought my gown from David's as well. My experience was not horrible, but was not good either. I was just treated like they were too busy for me. (IT WAS VERY BUSY) However, one lady was rude to my mom. Ummm. Big no no with me. I am a momma's girl and can't stand for people to be rude to her.
Working in the wedding industry someone has to realize that there are some brides that need more help than others. I don't know about Princess Service (consider Princess Diana) but I do know that being knowlegable of your merchandise as well as being polite and PATIENT are a must. I can't tell you how many couples have left my store and come right back because I was willing to help and knew what I was talking about. Many couples would apologize to me for taking up my time and I'm like "That's my job. Of course I want your business so I'm gonna do what it takes to get your business." Most people understand that planning a wedding is stressful and EXPENSIVE. Customer Service for weddings should be designed to take as much stress off of you as possible. Obviously this is a quality that David's lacks. I too had the problem with them telling me the dress needed alterations when it was all around just too big.
About the sizes being wrong...I work in the tuxedo business and with my experience, some garments just run bigger or smaller than others and every once in a while the wrong size tag gets sewn into the coat at the manufacturer. So the sizes are NOT ALWAYS right.
For Coni, that was a very unprofessional post. Being someone that works at David's your first move should have been to send the board straight to the home office so all the problems could be resolved.

Wendy, although I agree with you that no one should be treated in a disrespectful manner, and that all customers deserve courtesy service, I do disagree with the "Princess" statement. David's Bridal is not an over-the-top bridal salon. They are a large chain discount bridal shoppe. This is not the type of store where you will be greeted by an associate with a glass of champagne in their hand for you. If you want to be treated like a princess, be ready to pay for it - and pay big. David's sells inexpensive gowns that are not made very well. If you want the hand-sewn dream gown, then you have to go to the sorts of places where you are spending thousands and thousands of dollars on the gown. Those are the types of places that will treat you like a princess because you are paying for it!
Again, I don't discount the fact that no one should be treated in a rude manner while shopping for any item or service. However, I feel your expectations of David's may be a bit high. David's Bridal is not a high-end bridal gown store -- face it, they are a discount store.
Well, I some what agree with the first comment. I too wasn't treated very well at David's in Pinole, CA. I had an appt but they didn't have it in the books. I also waited, although not an hour, but I definitely didn't get immediate attention. Also i went in to the store after an advertised sale of $99 of which only 12 existed.
