Hi! My Maid of Honor is 5'10" yes! And we wanted to do the David's Bridal 8567 (full length, strapless, side sweep with rhinestone pin at side) in latte - they say they can't get it in time...anyone have one in a 6,8,10?? I absolutely must have the extra 4 inches long version! Or do you know where I can look for one or something similar? I need the A-Line, satin in a really long dress! If you know of a dress line that carries those longer lengths, or an online site - I'd appreciate any suggestions!

If there is enough time, they can make a dress. They need like a full 12 weeks though, as the dresses are made in China and sent over to the US....then you also have to allow for transit time. You can order a longer dress from them, it's 4 extra inches of length, and it's the same price - there was only one dress in the color I wanted that they could make in the longer length, so the styles are limited as to what you can get the longer length in. We ended up getting the regular length dress and ordered extra fabric in the same color so that our seamstress could add on to the dress to extend the length.

It's funny because I called my local David's Bridal store and they said they can't make the dresses any longer (which is really rediculous to not be able to make a dress longer or in any color). Do you have a phone number for the people you talked to? Also, with ordering the extra fabric and having your seamstress add it onto the dress, how did that turn out? Can you tell that the extra fabric was added?
We haven't received the dress yet, so don't know how it will turn out! The dress selected has that front "sweep" down the front, so we're thinking of adding, underneath, like an extra layer, or an extra sweep/tier, so I don't think it will be super obvious. And it's the maid of honor, so a lot of times they have a different dress anyway. I used the David's in Lenexa, Kansas and, if I remember correctly, they could get the mix and match long skirts in the longer length, and I didn't do those because I'm using the latte color and those don't come in latte. I did dress 8567 because I needed latte, strapless and long -this was the ONLY style they could get in the long dress with those options. That store has been super helpful. I'd call during non peak time, I worked with Debra Essex and she was great! Good luck and give yourself lots of extra time ;-)
