My wedding date is May 21, 2005 and I chose periwinkle and yellow. I'm only having my MOH and her dress is periwinkle. I've always loved yellow roses so my bouquet has ivory & yellow roses.

It depends on what you like... I am doing a dark pink and light pink together. It's very romantic... =) Try mixing colors and doing something unique... Black and red is boring. Good Luck =)

My colors are gold/ivory/black. But you should choose colors that excite you. If you really don't have a favorite color, ask your groom......he probably has a favorite.

Hey Betsy....BLACK & RED are NOT boring! What barn were you born in? Those are my wedding colors and I find black dresses with red roses absolutely stunning.

Please don't steer this poor girl in the wrong direction and run down such beautiful colors.

Sage green and ivory, or white is a lovely combination. Plus you could do soft pink bouquets. I've been to a few June weddings that had used those colors. As long as the gowns were more organza( or even flowy/ flouncy) and tea length your girls would look romantic and lovely.

My wedding is September of 2006 and my color scheme is a mixture of purples and greens. Since your wedding is in June, i think you should do something brighter than red and black...that kind of makes me think of a funeral, not a wedding! have fun and good luck! courtney, ohio

Gee....the last funeral I've been at....I don't remember ANYONE in black & red. Everyone seems to do purple...everyone seems to do blue. Black with red accents are very elegant and sophisticated colors....then again....mabye classy is just just not your type. Yeah, I'm sure that's it.

Be different. Don't keep up with the Jones'. If you really love a color - go with it. Don't let family members or unclassy rednecks in this message forum change your thinking. Good Luck!

Wow, I never thought that giving someone my advice on a "wedding advice" website would make me an unclassy, unsophisticated redneck. Sorry Dawn, didn't know saying that I didn't like the colors black and red for a wedding color scheme would hurt your feelins that much to call me unclassy. Did you invent those colors?? if so i give you my biggest appologies, didn't mean to offend you.

You all are very funny!!!! LOL
My wedding is also next June, and my colors are Red, white and a little pink. I just LOVE red and it looks great on just about everyone! Maybe you should ask your maid of honor and brides maides what they think since they will be the ones wearing the colors. You should also consider how formal/informal your wedding will be and the materials of your dress and your brides maid dresses. Everything should compliment and flow together. Maybe pick a theme or something you both enjoy and focus your wedding around that. Look at magazines to get ideas of what you two like and don't like. GOOD LUCK and have fun planning!!!

If you like bold colors purple or fushia with lime green or sage. If you like soft colors, a rainbow wedding is very nice (peri, rose petal, desert coral, banana, celadon and lilac). I did a rainbow wedding and it was beautiful.

Courtney....Funny, I didn't call you a redneck at all in my message. You just automatically assumed that I was referring to you.

My advice to brides is to pick the colors that makes them happy and to not pick colors to please others. You'll never please everyone....and besides, the only person you need to please really, is yourself. It's YOUR wedding.

I think that kiwi & poppy are very pretty together, or even raspberry & brown.

My daughter is getting married in a week. Her girls are dressed in black and pale pink sleeveless dresses. The men even opted to wear black and white tuxes with pale pink ties. They look beautiful together.

HI Tausha
I would say it depends on the time of year your getting married.

Black & red in June is a bit dark......You might think about red & white.........however it is your day and what you want is what you should have.......Everyone's taste varies, so if having black & red is what you want go for it

My colors were actually Black & white with Red Rose accessories.......My wedding was evening and formal so the black and white was very elegant but it was all September so black & white in the fall was very appropriate...... I thought boring at first but when i look back at my pictures they are absolulty beautiful.......But remember it's your day and your supposed to only do it once so do it up however you please!!!!!!!

Re: What Are Your Color Schemes- I Need Help
I was married in August of 05'. My colors were red, black and white. It was beautiful and elegant. My bridemaids wore red and carried white roses, my matron of honor had same dress but carried a mixture of red and white roses. I had a red rose bouquet with white accent flowers. The groomsman wore black tuxes and vest with red ties and my husband wore black tux with red vest and tie. My pictures were awsome, and the reception was unbelievable. Go for the red and black... I wouldn't change if for anything or anyone.

Re: What Are Your Color Schemes- I Need Help
I HOPE YOU WERE ABLE TO PICK YOUR COLORS. MY FAVORITE IDEA IS GOING TO A PAINT STORE AND LOOK AT ALL THE COLOR VARIATIONS. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DETERMINE WHICH COLORS BRING YOUR PERSONALITY OUT THE MOST. I AM DOING FUSCHIA AND LIME GREEN, SOUNDS WEIRD BUT WHEN YOU PUT THE COLORS TOGETHER, ITS BEAUTIFUL. SO GO WILD, DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.
