I was thinking about renewing our wedding vows after our 5th year ann. I am doing it because I couldn't have my father walk me down the isle and I can now. Is it normal to have wedding vows done after only 5 years? And have your father do it and not your husband?
I will be renewaling my wedding vows after 20 years of marriage this September. I am not sure if I am having my father walk me down the asile or have my childreen..... Or just walk in alone. We are doing almost everything like a normal/tradittionally wedding.. We are lighting memory candles instead of a unity candles and some other things different also. Let me know if you need other ideas.
My husband and I are renewing our vows next summer. At the time we will only have been married for a year and a half (we got married in December). We had a small civil ceremony because he's in the military and you know how that goes with the "war on terror". Anyway, we've been told that a lot of people are starting to do this when they never got the chance to have a formal ceremony the first time. So I think its normal, even then if people don't then they just don't have to come. :) The only problem would be if you want to be married in a church and weren't so the first time because I've been told that the church doesn't recognize a vow renewal within 5 years of marriage if it was not done through the church the first time. If thats the case then you need to do the counseling and church registration and the whole nine yards. Hope that helped.
