Centerpieces

I have everything planned for my october wedding except centerpieces for the reception tables. I want something unique but not too extravagant. Any ideas?

Re: Centerpieces
My cousin got married last Oct and used Mini Scarwcrows on her tables, they were very different.. She than used loose leaves in all fall colors scattered all around for an added fall effect.

Other ideas would be pumpkins....maybe with candles lit inside.

You could get one of those fruit things from Thanksgiving and put it on the tables.

Mmmmm.. Thinking... Maybe hay? There are so many things you could do with a fall theme. I hope I helped a little.

Re: Centerpieces
Well, if fall is the theme you are using and not just the time of year why not get a mini tree and (don't laugh I am from florida where we NEVER have fall so we did this one year) and spray paint the leaves. It actually lasted a while and it didn't look bad. I also saw a candleabra that was made out of a small potted tree with out any leaves just cups for the candles. If fall isn't your theme then think about what is nearest and dearest to you. Some couples like to designate tables based on significant events in their relationship like a trip to Europe. Collect things that signify that and arrange them. This way you don't have to number tables either. Go to craft stores and places like Pier One Imports for newer ideas. Just a thought. Good luck and best wishes

Re: Centerpieces
Our wedding is in November, this is what I'm doing. I am having an entire Autumn theme. At the end of the season last year I went to Hobby Lobby and bought 13 inch glass vases (they were on clearance) I bought
Pumkin spice potpourri and put that in the bottom. I bought very pretty silk fall flowers (50%off) and filled the vases with them. I bought gold filagree ribbon and tied bows around the neck of the vase and then bought bun candles that fit right on top. They came out so nice. I believe the end total was $8.50 a piece. I have them all done wrapped them all in plastic so they still smell(and if they don't I can just put some pumkin spice oil in them when I open them)and put them in cardboard boxes I taped shut. They are in my attic all taped up and ready to go.! I want fall but really not any holloweeny decos pumkins and the like. We are going to spread fall silk leaves on the tables, and my flower girl will be throwing small silk leaves I found at Michaels also on clearance. They were on a wire like a garland, so I removed them from the wire and the leaves are small, and she can just drop them! Hope this helps!

Re: Centerpieces
My cousin got married in Oct. She had the Ivy bowls filled w/ acorns (she and her husband picked them off the ground at a local park!). She also had a votive candle in there somehow. She used orange ribbons. They were very pretty. She used silk fall leaves for decor, it was very beautiful and the first time I saw it done. Post here if you want more info.
